plot
Asha is a finance specialist working in microfinance who recently broke off her engagement and left behind a Wall Street banking career to work for a microfinance startup in New Jersey. Asha’s mother Sunita, concerned for her future and against the advice of her husband Vijay, sets up a dating profile through which Asha meets Ravi posing as one Suraj Sharma. Although their first date goes poorly, Asha finally convinces Ravi to pretend that they are dating at several weddings throughout the summer in order to reduce the pressure to get married. Asha and Ravi slowly become interested in each other, and Asha learns that Ravi is privately a wealthy DJ called DJ Spellbound.
