Ponniyin Selvan Release Date: Mani Ratnam’s historical epic titled Ponniyin Selvan Ponni Nadhi has got a release date. The makers of the film launched the song of the film at a live event at EA Mall, Chennai. Jayam Ravi joins the program who plays the central character named Arunmozhi Varman. The song is composed by AR Rahman and the lyrics are penned by Ilango Krishnan. The first single was composed by the music director himself, A.R. Said with Rihanna and Bamba Bucky.

ponniyin selvan story line
Ponniyin Selvan movie story revolves around Vandiyathevan, a charming young man who sets out to Chola land to deliver a message from Crown Prince Aditya Karikalan to the king and princess. The story of the film moves between the journey of Vandiyathevan in the Chola country and the journey of the young prince Arulmozhivarman to Sri Lanka.
Set in the ninth century, the film traces the early life of the Chola prince Arulmozhivarman, who gained approval and became the most powerful king of his time in South India.
Vallavarayan Vandiyadevan, a mighty warrior prince of the Vannars narrates his adventures within the Chola kingdom.
Rani Nandini (Aishwarya Bachchan), formerly known as Mandakini Devi, the wife of Periya Pazhuvettariyar (R. Sarathkumar), is on an operation to kill Aditya Karikalan (Vikram) and help her husband ascend the throne .
