Namita has studied Chartered Accountants (CA) from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Later she went to US for further studies. In the US, he received his MBA post-graduation from the Fuqua School of Business in North Carolina. After doing MBA, he started working in US only. Namita worked as the Business Financial Lead in the Finance Department Planning of Glasgow & Guidan Corporation (now Abbott) in the US.
He served for about six years in various financial roles for this company. After this, in the year 2007, she returned to India after giving leave. Coming to India, she joined her father’s company, Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited. He started at Emcure as CFO managing the finance portfolio and has since held key roles in M&A, IT, global compliance, human resources and domestic marketing. She is a member of the Executive Board of Emcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and was most recently the Head of India business of Emcure, managing over 4000 medical representatives across 15 key therapeutic areas across India.
In addition, Namita Thapar is also the owner of Young Entrepreneur Academy, a franchisee of Incredible Ventures Ltd., USA, which educates children in the age group of eleven to eighteen years to be entrepreneurs. Presently YEA is operating in six cities of India namely Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai and Ahmedabad. Namita Fuqua also serves as a board member on the India Regional Advisory Board of the School of Business. She also serves as a board member of Finolex Cables and is an active member of Young President’s Organization (Pune).
