Jubin Nautiyal was born on 14 June 1989, a native of Dehradun. Her father, Ram Sharan Nautiyal, is a business man and politician in Uttarakhand and her mother, Neena Nautiyal, is also a businesswoman and homemaker. He showed inclination towards music at the young age of 4, see his father’s love for singing. He did his educational qualification from St. Joseph’s Academy, Dehradun till class 8th. Thereafter, he continued his educational qualification at Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun, where he studied music as a subject and built a foundation in classical music. He also learned to play instruments like guitar, piano, harmonium and drums. By the age of 18, Zubin was known as a singer in his hometown Dehradun. He has performed live and funded many events.
After finishing her educational qualification, she moved to Mumbai in 2007 and joined Mithibai College. He continued his music training under Pandit Chhannulal Mishra in Varanasi and moved to Bollywood. During this he met AR Rahman, who valued the quality of his voice and proposed that he continue working and touring his voice for a few more years before entering the Indian music industry. Taking Rahman’s advice, Nautiyal comes back to his home town and trains under his school teacher Mrs. Vandana Srivastava.
He also took additional musical training in Hindustani classical music from his guru Shri Samant. He spent 4 years polishing his ability in music, traveling and playing with many musicians, and traveled to Banaras to study light classical from Chhannulal Mishra. Jubin also trained in western music at a music tuition in Chennai, where he had the opportunity to study under veteran guitarist Prasanna.
