Not much has been revealed about the film yet, however, reports say that the premise of Gold revolves around the events that take place over 4 days in the life of a mobile shop owner, Joshi. His marriage with Radha has been lasting and to start his new life in a different way, he buys a new vehicle in the hope that it will add cheer to the alliance. Along with writing and directing the action comedy film, Alphonse Puthren also worked on the film’s editing, stunt choreography, visual effects, color grading and title animation.
The film is produced by Prithviraj Sukumaran’s wife Surya Menon under their Prithviraj Productions in association with Listin Stephen’s Magic Frames. Justin Stephen is assisting as co-producer of the film while Naveen P. Thomas is executive financier. The film’s soundtrack and original score are composed by Rajesh Murugesan, while the lyrics are penned by Shabareesh Verma, who also sang in the film.

The shooting of Gold will begin in September 2021 and end in June 2022. The film will release in theaters across India on December 22, 2022. The news added that the makers wanted to release the film earlier during the Onam festival. September 2022, however, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic hampered the schedule, eventually delaying the release.
