Little Bondita’s relationship with her maternal uncle is settled, but the thought of being away from her mother unnerves Sumati. She sends a letter to her would-be husband that she will take her grieving mother Sumati with her after marriage. Mami somehow came to know about this letter and now Bondita’s family members are very worried thinking that this relationship might break.
But instead of Bondita’s husband in the letter, Anirudh, the other main character of the story, has been placed. Anirudh, who returned to his country after completing law studies in London, is working to free the country from social evils like child marriage.
